Made with freshly picked Kojiro plum and unique sesame shochu.

Brewed with the brewery's signature sesame shochu as its base. Selecting only the best Kojiro plums from Kishu, known for their superior quality in making plum wine.

The plums are soaked in sesame shochu and left to slowly extract their flavors and aged over a year.

No water or heat is added to preserve the plum's natural essence. The result is a rich aroma and a lustrous amber color, showcasing the best of plum flavor.

To further accentuate its individuality, the alcohol content is at 18%, creating a robust plum wine that is both sweet and bold. a confident taste to the mature palate.

What is special with Kojiro Plums "Blue diamond"?

Kojiro plum, called "Blue diamonds", are the best green plum for umeshu. The fruit is firmer than other plums, and great to be used for ume extract. The firmer the fruit, the more ume extract seeps when made into umeshu.

With Kijiro plum, you can truly enjoy the original taste of the ume!

The harvest of Kijiro plum has been greatly reduced in Kishu area, making it an extremely valuable variety now.

A rare umeshu using sesame shochu as the base

The reason for using sesame is because of its health benefits and rich aroma.
Hence, by adding roasted sesame to barley shochu, this special sweet scented shochu is created.

Legends have it that the world’s first distilled liquor made from sesame seeds is from this brewery! With the influence of western liquor, they carefully crafted sesame shochu to create a fragrant liquor that is on par with western liquor on a national level.

Normally breweries use distiller shochu, but here for the umeshu they use their signature sesame shochu to achieve a better form and to stand out from other umeshu!

How to enjoy

It can be enjoyed on the rocks or with soda.
On hot days, it is also delicious served over vanilla ice cream as a dessert!
