* Most warabi mochi sold is mixed with processed starch and preservatives for cost and longer shelf life. An authentic warabi mochi is cloudy, not transparent, elastic and soft. It takes great skill and experience for artisans using only 100% warabi powder.
Due to this reason, the handmade warabi mochi by Yachiyorozu is so popular that customers ask to purchase specifically the warabi mochi all the time.
Expanding to the world
The uncompromisingly authentic taste, which was enhanced by using carefully selected ingredients from within the Kochi prefecture, was highly evaluated and won the "Kochi Family's Good Food Awards 2019".
With considerations from the customers and support from local farmers, soon, it expanded not only in and outside the prefecture but also overseas today.

Using beet sugar, the balance of sweetness and flavour
Beet sugar is less sweet compared to usual white or brown sugar. You can enjoy the moderate sweetness and the not too overpowering flavor of the ingredients.

1. Yuzu
The elegant sweetness follows the uplifting aroma of yuzu. The texture of the yuzu peel brings you happiness.
2. Sawatari Sencha
It is an excellent tea that has a clear taste and a refreshing aftertaste, with the original flavor of the tea leaves. The tea leaves are finely ground by hand and cooked at a low temperature to preserve the flavor.
3. Sawatari Hojicha
Hand-picked tea leaves are slowly and deeply roasted to give a soft texture and the mellow aroma unique to hojicha spreads.
* Sawatari tea is a Kochi prefecture brand tea grown in the Niyodo River, which ranks first in water quality nationwide!
How to Enjoy
You can enjoy it both cold and warm!

To enjoy it cool
Thaw at room temperature or in the refrigerator for 1 to 3 hours before serving.
It is also delicious with kinako, milk, or whipped cream.

To enjoy it warm
Place the warabi mochi at room temperature on a plate, cover with plastic wrap, and warm it in the microwave a little warmer than human skin (30 to 60 seconds at 500 watts), then wait at room temperature for about one minute until it cools to human skin.
Please put them in the freezer as soon as you receive them and do not refreeze after thawing to preserve the flavor.
After thawing, keep refrigerated (unopened) for up to 9 days. After opening the package, store in the refrigerator and consume as soon as possible, regardless of the expiration date.
Story of Yachiyorozu
It is a Japanese restaurant and yakiniku (grilled meat) restaurant located in Kanda-city, a short distance away from Kochi City, Kochi prefecture and offering dishes that make full use of the bounty of Kochi's rich natural environment based on more than 10 years of experience as a Japanese chef. Sweets made with ingredients unique to Tosa, Kochi prefecture are also popular among customers from inside and outside of the prefecture.
