A very rich orange-flavored Gâteau au chocolat like steamed chocolate which pâtissier spent two years to develop.
It contains 60% of the highest quality chocolate, couverture chocolate and was created based on a new idea of emulsifying egg whites and chocolate which has been granted a manufacturing patent, which is rare in this industry.
It was originally a summer-only product, but it has become a year-round item due to its popularity.
The taste and texture
When eaten as is, it is like Gâteau au chocolat and is very moist. The taste of chocolate lingers in your mouth. It is not hard, but chewy and firm.
When you warm it in the microwave for 5 - 10 seconds, the orange flavor, when eaten as is, has a very strong orange taste, like orange puree.

They have been selected as the "No. 1 hit product for Valentine's Day" by the Nikkei Newspaper and as a Kawasaki City specialty product.
After it was introduced in the Nikkei Newspaper, many confectionery companies tried to imitate the product, so much so that a patent was obtained for a special manufacturing process.
About Pâtissier, Chikao Shishido
He is the owner and Pâtissier who creates a series of new confections that reflect French culinary techniques in Western confectionery.
He won number of awards, including a prize in the confectionery category of the California Crummy Contest and a silver prize in the large crafted confectionery category of the Japan Cake Show.
When he started designing his own store; Ilfaitjour, he did not commission a designer from the drawing board, but took charge of everything himself, renewing his father's store that had been there for 31 years.
He decided to take on the challenge here in Kawasaki, which is a fierce battleground for cakes.
He is also enthusiastic about passing on the techniques and skills of Western confectionery and the pâtissier's spirit to the next generation, such as teaching children the importance of food at nutrition education classes.

Kawasaki City Collaboration
Kawasaki City is located in the northeastern part of Kanagawa Prefecture. Across the Tama River is Tokyo on the other side. The eastern part of the city borders Tokyo Bay. The Keihin Industrial Zone is lined with numerous factories along the coast, and when the factories are lit up at night, a fantastic night view emerges.
Since Kawasaki city is one of The 53 Stations of the Tokaido (Hiroshige Utagawa, 1832-1833), there are many historical sites such as Kawasaki Daishi Heikenji Temple for Shingon Buddhism and Inage Shrine with a 1,000 year-old tree.
